A Wonderful Place Kids Love

How many times have you taken your toddler to the library? It's a free and fun destination for little ones....

My son is a toddler and at this age he is like a little sponge, absorbing so much information and you can almost see the wheels turning sometimes as he contemplates everything you say.

One thing he loves to do is look at his books.  Almost any book will capture his attention and this is another thing that I hope lasts forever.

I introduced him to a new friend this summer and one that he will surely have for many years to come: the public library.

He has his own library card.  He even received three presents from the library this summer for reading books with his mother.

He also loves to go flop down on the cozy pillows on the floor they have in the children’s area. He watches the other kids and has even made a few friends.

And he isn’t the only one who learned a few lessons at the library this summer. I actually learned from another mom how to show him to pick up his books when he was down and put them away.  He now does the same thing at home every night before he goes to bed.

The county library isn’t the only one we’ve visited. We’ve also visited a few branches for an evening of story time and to see the St. Louis Blues’ own Louie the blue bear.

This fall I’m looking forward to taking him to even more activities at the library.  For  a list of all the activities go to http://www.slcl.org/
