Ten Holiday Drinks That Are Sure to Keep Your Party Festive and Your Guests Happy

Experts share secrets to mixing drinks that you will want to serve at your holiday celebration.

The holiday season is in full swing, and you know what that means; it is time for hosting holiday parties. If you are looking for something fun and festive to serve, look no further.

We stopped by some of our favorite watering holes and persuaded local bartenders and baristas to give up some of their yummiest holiday drink ideas that you are sure to love.

We wanted to share their recipes with you, but we had to do a little coaxing with a reminder that “you know who” from the North Pole is watching. With a smile and a “be good for goodness sakes,” we were in the know. Recipes were in hand.

John Griesedieck, Deanna Starmer and Matt Curtin are happy to mix up one of their holiday libations for you. While each is tasty and boasts festive colors, be aware, the Cake Batter tastes just like liquid yellow cake batter. It goes down so smooth and easy, you will be tempted to chug in one big gulp and then lick the martini glass afterward.

Cake Batter – Deanna Starmer
1 ½ oz. Three Olives Cake
1 ½ oz. Lemonade
Dash     Grenadine

Christmas Daddy – John Griesedieck
1 ½ oz. Cat Daddy Moonshine
1 ½ oz. Bailey’s
Dash     Green Crème De Menthe


Duke Myover has perfected one of the tastiest cocktails of the season. He calls it a snowflake. It is three ounces of deliciousness that will melt in your mouth and have you calling for another. His Christmas Spirit cocktail will put you in a spirited mood and the red color will have you thinking of Christmas.

Snowflake
1 oz. Smirnoff Fluffed Marshmellow Flavored Vodka
1 oz. Rum Chata
1 oz. Cream

Shake and serve up in a martini glass.

Christmas Spirit
1 ½ oz. English Harbor Rum
½ oz.    Dolin Sweet vermouth
½ oz.    Crism Hibiscus Liqueur
Dash    Angosturla Bitters
Dash    Pechyaud Bitters
Dash    Grenadine

Shake and strain over ice and serve in rocks glass.


Deer Creek Coffee

Marcy Williams and her staff will keep you warm and refreshed with their holiday flavors for the season. They are as beautiful to look at as they are tasty to drink. When it is cold outside the Mocha Mint Latte and the Hot Apple Cider will keep you toasty and have your tummy saying yummy. For a non-alcoholic taste of Eggnog, the Eggnog Frappe is cool and refreshing and sure to satisfy your Eggnog craving.

Mocha Mint Latte’
2 Pumps Peppermint Syrup
1 Pump Chocolate Syrup
Steamed Milk
Espresso

Hot Apple Cider
3 Parts Apple Cider
1 Part Chai Tea
Steam, no foam, garnish with ground cinnamon.

Eggnog Frappe’
2 Shots Espresso
2 ½ oz. Eggnog
2 Pumps Cinnamon Syrup
Ice

Blend all together and garnish with whipped cream.
