Patrons Get Sneak Peek of Saks Fifth Avenue Renovation

The renovation will bring new shoe brands and designers to St. Louis.

Tonight, the newly renovated Saks Fifth Avenue store at Plaza Frontenac will host a private event showing some of the store’s new features.

The first phase of the $5 million renovation will include a redesigned interior and will double the size of the shoe department, according to a March St. Louis Business Journal article.

The store will also bring new brands, such as Manolo Blahnik and Miu Miu shoes, Diane von Furstenberg and Alexander McQueen handbags, and Rebecca Minkoff and Milly apparel, according to a St. Louis Post Dispatch article.

According to a release about the renovation, the changes will bring a "New York point of view to St. Louis.”

“St. Louis was ready for it,” said Doug Moss, the store's general manager, quoted in a St. Louis Posted Dispatch article about the store. “Our customers – they travel and shop everywhere. Now we're just providing them the opportunity to come in and touch and feel it here. I think St. Louisans are very loyal to St. Louis and they'd rather do business here.”
