New Businesses Flock to Frontenac

Omega Boutique and Soma Intimates are the first two of many additions to Plaza Frontenac this year.

Soma Intimates and Omega Boutique are the two latest stores to open in .

"They're both great additions for us," said Jean Ahsmuhs, marketing director at Plaza Frontenac.

Both stores are part of chains that are expanding across the United States this year.

"There are a number of reasons for us to build up our network in the U.S.A.," said Stephen Urquhart, president and CEO of Omega, in a statement. "We are in a strong position thanks to our global success and we believe in America. We are confident that it is an ideal time to make this major commitment there."

The Omega Boutique in Plaza Frontenac opened on April 14, and is located on the lower level in the center court next to

The Omega brand, which is Swiss, centers on a variety of watches for men and women, which have recently been marketed by famous brand ambassadors like George Clooney and Nicole Kidman. Omega also sells other accessories such as jewelry, leather goods and fragrances.

Soma Intimates, which features underwear, pajamas and loungewear for women, opened on March 9. The store is located on the upper level between  and .

"Soma is a good fit for Plaza Frontenac because it's what the shoppers are looking for in a casual environment," said Carol Robbins, the store's manager. "Their apparel fits all lifestyles and all walks of life."

The additions to Plaza Frontenac don't stop with Omega and Soma. Tumi, a store which features luggage and bags for men and women, will be opening in June, according to Ahsmuhs. As , a Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen Home store will also be opening some time this summer outside of the mall where the Williams Sonoma Home store used to be.

Construction is also currently underway for the , St. Louis Bread Co. and BrickTop's Restaurant, which are scheduled to open in the fall.
