New Business Moving into Old Wild Oats Center on Ladue Road

The new "no cut, no color hair salon" is set to open in the fall. It's called Blown Away.

A new business is set to join FedEx Office and the casualwear store in the old Wild Oats plaza just east of I-170 on Ladue Road.

Blown Away, a new hair salon that bills itself as the "no cut, no color" salon, is set to open this fall. Workers were on the scene on Friday installing electrical work in the new storefront, the latest business to move into what's being billed as the new Colonial Marketplace.

Blown Away's website indicates this will be the first and only location for the salon in the St. Louis area. The address will be 8815 Ladue Road. The site indicates that Blown Away will feature a "kiss and make-up" bar that will be open for private parties.

The salon is seeking stylists.

A report last month on KSDK's website said Blown Away is opening Oct. 1. The business will charge $30 for a shampoo and blow dry in about a half-hour.

New plans for the Colonial Marketplace were announced with fanfare in June as brokers for the complex said contracts had been signed to bring new businesses into the languishing center.

At the time, developers said the Original Pancake House, Cini Italian Restaurant (owned by the group that owns Giovanni’s on the Hill) and a major coffee shop were preparing to move into the center.

The center is undergoing an renovation, according to Robert Randall, a senior sales and leasing manager at The DESCO Group.

Patch is seeking additional updates on progress for the development.
