Doors Swing Open for L'Ecole Culinaire Academy Cooking School in Olivette

The ribbon was cut before a large crowd at the Shoppes at Price Crossing.

L’Ecole Culinaire Academy, welcome to Olivette.

The ribbon has been cut, the staff introduced and the space filled at the Shoppes at Price Crossing in Ladue. The academy occupies some 2,000 square feet of space in the space formerly occupied by the Mockingbird Market.

Officials vow the cooking school will be a long-term resident at 9200 Olivette Blvd., Suite 108. A small army of well-wishers came to the new location to celebrate and wish the owners and managers good luck.

Officials from the Creve Coeur-Olivette Chamber of Commerce, including executive director Nancy Gray came to cut the ribbon.

L’Ecole Culinaire Academy offers daily cooking classes for both food enthusiasts and professionals.

The whole landscape will be covered.

Courses include :

  • Kitchen basics boot camp for beginners
  • Condiment production
  • Poultry fabrication
  • Sauces: glaces, essences and purees
  • Beer and food pairing

The culinary academy offers classes designed for both the seasoned professional and the amateur kitchen chef. Any one of these classes can be tailored for food service businesses interested in expanding the knowledge and skills of current or incoming staff.

The mission of the L’Ecole Culinaire Academy offers short-term, culinary education classes intended for food enthusiasts as well as customizable training for members of the culinary and hospitality industries. Participants can expect to gain specialized cooking knowledge taught strictly by professional instructors.

“My vision for the academy is to provide a unique culinary resource to my home community of St. Louis. I want the academy to be a place where seasoned chefs and food enthusiasts can expand their knowledge and skills through our wonderful programs create for fun, food and family,” said Matthew Borchardt, head chef for the academy.

The Academy hours of operation are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday with additional hours for scheduled classes. For information call 1-888-318-7481.
