From bold prints to vibrant colors, summer 2011 clothing comes in a variety of hues. With help from employees at local stores, Ladue-Frontenac Patch has found 10 outfits that pick up on all the must-have summer trends.
True (Navy) Blue
Navy is one of the biggest shades of summer. From a pair of cuffed shorts ($195) at in to a ruffled sleeveless Britt Ryan top ($124) at (which recently relocated down the street to 9823 Clayton Rd.), navy can be a part of your wardrobe with fun and functional pieces.

Radiant Ruffles
Ruffled tops are also a fun trend for summer, and they can be styled to work with formal or casual outfits. You can find navy ruffled tops at MACS ($124) and ($68), and white ruffled tops at Kate Spade ($195) and Pink Magnolia ($58).

The ruffle trend also works on dresses and with prints, as evidenced by an adorable pink and tan printed Britt Ryan dress ($260) at MACS.
Eye-Catching Prints
Bold prints that make use of bright colors are definitely in this summer. Kate Spade has a great top ($245) that picks up shades of yellow, orange and aqua. For a more formal occasion, Pink Magnolia has an aqua, pink and white printed dress ($198).
Cute prints aren't reserved for tops or dresses. Pink Magnolia has skirts ($118), shorts ($58) and pants ($138) with fun prints that are great for summer.
White Is the New Black
The major trend of white pants, shorts and skirts started this spring, and is continuing into the summer. Rather than black or a traditional pair of blue jeans, the white trend serves as a perfect blank canvas for some of the more vibrant tops and accessories this season.

Maxi-Mania
