MICDS Grad Brings Play to the St. Louis Stage

Elizabeth Birkenmeier's 'There's a Gun in My Goodbye Bag' runs through June 29 at Classic Coin Laundry.

Elizabeth Birkenmeier has written a play about laundry and sleep. Sound interesting?

Throw in strangers, secrets and a gun, and the play may intrigue you a bit.

Birkenmeier recently sat down with Nancy Fowler of the St. Louis Beacon, and said she wondered about all the things people do while waiting on their laundry.

The 27-year-old MICDS and Washington University alum now lives in New York City, and said she was asked to set this play in a laundromat.

Click here to read her Beacon interview and find out what happens during a long spurt at the laundromat.
