Winter Masterworks Concert Thursday, December 8, 2011 7:00 p.m. Mary Eliot Chapel

The Holidays begin at MICDS Featuring the MICDS Chamber Choir, Bella Voce Women's Choir, Concert Women's Choir and Men's Choir accompanied by professional orchestra.

The concert will feature movements from some of the "biggest and best" in choral literature.  Masterworks being highlighted including Mendelssohn's "Elijah", Haydn's "The Creation", Handel's "Judas Maccabeus", Vivaldi's "Gloria", Rutter's "Requiem", and Handel's "Messiah."  The concert will end with the traditional singing of Sir David Willcock's "O Come, All Ye Faithful."

Joining the MICDS singers on the concert is professional soprano soloist, Danna Dockery-Anderson.  Ms. Dockery-Anderson is a graduate of the Wichita State School of Music with a Masters in vocal performance, has performed with The Light Opera of St. Louis,  Dorian Opera Theater, Wichita Opera, New Line Theater as well as numerous concerts and musicals in the St. Louis area. 

A reception will follow the concert hosted by the MICDS Arts Backers.
