Sacred Choral Concert

Come hear the combined choirs of Ladue Chapel and Second Presbyterian Churches at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, as they present a concert of the works of twentieth-century French composer Maurice Duruflé, featuring his exquisite Requiem from 1947.  The choirs will be accompanied by organ, harp, cello and timpani.  Soloists will be mezzo-soprano Camille Gifford of New York City, and baritone Thomas Sitzler.  This setting of the requiem is an undisputed masterpiece.  While inspired by Gregorian chant, it shows a classic sense of order and clarity, but is nevertheless completely contemporary.
