Olivette Artist to Exhibit at Saint Louis University Musuem of Art

Marian Steen, an accomplished artist from Olivette will debut her latest show "Memories & Dreams" this Friday, June 22, 4:30-6 p.m. with a reception by invitation at the Saint Louis University Museum of Art. The museum is located at 3663 Lindell Blvd., and will continue to the public until 8 p.m.

Steen's exhibit will continue untill August 13.

Steen's paintings deal with large washes of watercolor, pouring and dripping the paint, taking full advantage of the "wet on wet" technique favored by many watercolorists. She uses textures and collage materials in a layering process.

She thinks of collaging as keeping a visual art diary and often incorporates into her paintings handmade paper, strings, found objects, or scraps of memorabilia that have personal meaning.
