Summer Activities on Tap This Week in Ladue, Frontenac

Book discussions, clothing sales, board games, and Harry Potter provide a variety of activities to take the mind off the heat.

Monday, June 27.  Young Adult Author Ally Carter will discuss her book, “Uncommon Criminals,” at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Arrive early for pre-event activities starting at 6:00 p.m. Carter is the bestselling author of “Heist Society” and the Gallagher Girls series. Tuesday, June 28. The Tuesday Women’s Association at the Ethical Society of St. Louis, 9001 Clayton Rd., will have their weekly Mah Jongg Tournament. It’s a bring-your-own-lunch. Thursday, June 30. St. Louis County Library, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd., will host the first in a series of events commemorating the last Harry Potter film. Starting the series will be The Wizard Rock Band, The Remus Lupin, and other bands from DFTBA Records will perform, including YouTube Nerd Rock stars: All Caps and Skyway Flyer. Friday, July 1. For those planning their July 4th events, we should mention that Plaza Frontenac will be open on July 4th from Noon till 5:00 p.m.  The following retailers have reported these hours:  Plaza Frontenac Cinema, regular hours.  Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, 5 p.m. till 10 p.m.  Canyon Café, 11 a.m. till 7 p.m.  Cardwell’s at the Plaza, Sam Cavato, and Tiffany & Co. will be closed that day for the holiday.  Brio Tuscan Grille will be open from 11 a.m. till 10 p.m.
