Mosquito Problem? Five Things You Should Know

The City of Frontenac sent out this recent information so residents can find out when mosquito spraying will take place and report any problems.

Resident's in Ladue and Frontenac know mosquito season is here. St. Louis County Vector Control sprays for mosquitoes in the area and the City of Frontenac just sent out an email reminding residents of their resources in regard to the annoying insects.

To report mosquito problems contact Saint Louis County Vector Control at (314) 615-0680.

The following bits of information were also included to help answer your mosquito control questions.

  1. Spraying begins at sunset.
  2. If you are interested in seeing what general section of the county is sprayed for mosquitoes on a particular night of the week, click here.
  3. If you would like to hear specific information listing where spraying will occurtonight, call 314-615-4284 (615-4BUG). A recorded message is updated daily between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00p.m.
  4. Mosquitoes can develop in any standing water that is present for more than five days. To reduce the mosquito population around your home and property, eliminate all standing water and debris.
  5. All mosquitoes need water in which to pass their early life states. Adult flying mosquitoes frequently rest in grass, shrubbery or other foliage, but they never develop there.
