Mercy Getting Ready To Unveil New St. Louis Area Plans

Hospital executives plan Tuesday announcement.

Patients at Mercy health care facilities in have noticed plenty of changes over the last year.

Now, executives are ready to roll out the results of community roundtable discussions held in St. Louis and elsewhere which have asked what the future holds for health care needs. Tuesday, company officials will be joined by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon to announce "investments" based on those discussions.

In Springfield, that included a 10 year, $650 million plan to expand an Emergency Room, neonatal ICU, and the construction of a heart hospital, announced in August.

In Hot Springs, Arkansas, it was an $11 million plan announced in September to expand cancer treatment services and add 56 physicians by 2016.
