Memorial Services Tonight, Tomorrow for Teutenberg Family in Niceville, Florida

Family of Seven will be remembered in community they served so loyally.

The seven members of the late Fred Teutenberg family of Niceville, Fla., originally from St. Louis will be memorialized Friday in their adopted hometown.

In a report in the Northwest Florida Times, the Niceville United Methodist Church will hold a celebration of life service at 1 p.m. Friday at the family’s church at 214 Partin Drive South in Niceville (near Destin, Fla).

Fred, his wife Terresa Teutenbert and their five children perished in a fiery plane crash just short of the runway in Demopolis, Ala. late Saturday night. They were returning from a weekend family reunion in St. Louis.

The Rev. Rurel Ausley, lead pastor at Niceville United Methodist Church told the Times “The Teutenberg family was an integral part of our congregation and was deeply committed to Christ. They volunteered their time in many ways,” the reverend said.

The service at the church will be in the Community life Center and will be simulcast at several other locations on the church campus in anticipation of the overflow crowd.

Terresa’s child care center, Discovery Learning Academy,  a center she founded also will host a memorial service tonight at 7:30 p.m. The center is located at 4565 Commercial Dr. in Niceville.

Earlier in the week, children at the center released five balloons in memory of their school mates.

Funeral and burial arrangements have yet to be announced.
