It’s Time to Think About Summer Camps

Patch Picks: We found a camp to meet every kind of preference for a fun and educational summer.

Camps boast opportunities for kids to make new friends, try new things, learn about nature, engage in athletic endeavors, and generally have fun. These five summer camps offer enough variety and activities to satisfy the pickiest kid.

Type:  Day, enrichment and youth athletic camps; programs include theatre/drama, astronomy, photography, fencing, softball, volleyball and more.

Ages:  Options available for children in grades Junior K—12.

2.      Burr Oak Camp, John Burroughs School and Community School campuses

Type:  Traditional summer camp with instructional swimming, arts and crafts, computer, games, archery, individual and team sports.

Ages:  Preschool through sixth grade.

3.      PEGASUS and Rams Sports Camps, MICDS

Type:  PEGASUS features age-appropriate programs that include nature walks, games, art, science, drama, theme-based activities, technology, and a variety of sports. Rams Sports Camps encompass soccer, strength and conditioning, volleyball, lacrosse, cheerleading, basketball, football, tennis and field hockey.

Ages:  Grades K—9.

4.      Summer Science Blast, Saint Louis Science Center

Type:  Variety of stimulating science programs designed to keep kids excited about learning featuring magic, exploring earth, bodies in motion, playing with food, ecosystems and much, much more.

Ages:  Grades Pre-K—12.

5.      Camp Whitfield and Whitfield Sports Camp

Type:  Camp Whitfield features arts and crafts, indoor/outdoor sports and games, and science and technology.  The Sports Camp showcases volleyball, basketball, field hockey, wrestling and basketball.

Ages:  Options available for children in grades K—12.
