Get Out Events Feature Fun While Helping Others

This week's list includes local events as well as activities that venture a bit outside of the Ladue-Frontenac area.

Every week “Get Out” brings you five events in our Patch area that we think you would enjoy. This week, we’re bringing you a bonus event, which is outside of our area, because it looks too good to pass up. A couple of the events profiled come with their own bonus: they benefit charities while providing you with an enjoyable outing. And while not all of our “Get Out” features this week are in Ladue-Frontenac, they are definitely worth the drive.

French Dining Experience
Doubly delicious: a gourmet, four-course French dinner that also benefits a local charity: Edgewood Childrens’ Center. Featuring tabletop designs by Frontenac’s Diane Breckenridge Barrett of Diane Breckenridge Interiors, this dinner will consist of items such as gruyere in puff pastry, Charlotte of scallops, poached pears in mimosa vinaigrette, grilled lamb loin chop and warm chocolate fondant with raspberries and more. This evening also includes entertainment by Javier Mendoza.

The show benefits the Shriners Hospitals for Children—St. Louis.

This year’s event has an added layer of significance since the International Herb Association named this spicy root the 2011 Herb of the Year. The festival includes a Bloody Mary contest for adults, a cooking contest, races, games, live music and much, much more.
