Family Read Night with Dave Barry & Ridley Pearson August 13

Seventh annual Family Read Night should be packed.

St. Louis County Library Foundation and Delta Dental are pleased to welcome back the amazing young adult adventure duo Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson for the seventh annual Family Read Night on Saturday, August 13 at 7:00 p.m. Barry and Pearson will discuss the fifth installment in their sensational Starcatchers series: “The Bridge to Never Land.”

The event will take place at Library Headquarters (1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.). The program is free and open to the public. Doors will open and pre-show entertainment will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Barnes & Noble will provide copies of the authors’ books for purchase and signing.

The side-splitting authors begin a new chapter in the Starcatchers saga. When Aidan and Sarah discover a mysterious coded document in an antique desk, they uncover clues about the mysterious origin of the Peter Pan legends. Of course, that’s just an old story—or is it?

Aidan and Sarah’s curiosity, leads them on an adventure that quickly turns strange—and scary. They discover that what they thought was a fictional battle between good and evil is still going on. And the scariest part is: They have become part of it. Pursued by a being that can take any form and will stop at nothing to get what it wants, Aidan and Sarah embark on a desperate, thrilling quest for help—a quest that leads them to some unforgettable people in some unlikely places.

Ridley Pearson is the bestselling author of numerous crime fiction novels for adults, including “Killer Weekend,” and “In Harm’s Way.” He has also written several other popular books for young readers including the bestselling “Kingdom Keepers” and “Steel Trapp” series.

Dave Barry is a Pulitzer Prize-winning humor columnist for the “Miami Herald.” His column appears in more than 500 newspapers in the United States and abroad.  He is also the author of more than 20 books for children and adults. His most recent adult title is “I’ll Mature When I’m Dead: Dave Barry’s Amazing Tales of Adulthood.”

Ridley Pearson and Dave Barry have collaborated on several books for young readers including “Peter and the Starcatchers,” “Peter and the Shadow Thieves,” “Peter and the Secret of Rundoon,” “Peter and the Sword of Mercy,” and the stand-alone adventure novel “Science Fair.”
