Marian Middle School to Host Fifth Annual “Girls Night Out” Women’s Event

ST. LOUIS – Marian Middle School, St. Louis’ only all-girl middle school, will host its Fifth Annual “Girls Night Out” Women’s Event on Wednesday, October 17, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Starlight Room atop the The Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis, Mo.

More than 300 women professionals will attend “Girls Night Out” – a scholarship fund-raiser to assist the school’s economically-disadvantaged students. The cocktail party features delicious appetizers, complimentary beverages and fabulous raffle prizes, such as gifts from the Chase Park Plaza, Tiffany & Co., Brown Shoe, Rebecca Minkoff and Cedar Lake Cellars.
“Girls Night Out” helps fund the gap between the $12,000 per student educational cost and the $400 per student funded by tuition. With 140 alums since the school opened in 2000, 32 graduates are now in college. The vast majority attend St. Louis’ college-prep high schools following graduation from Marian Middle School.

Marian Middle School educates 20 students each in grades five through eight. It was founded in 1999 by the Ursuline Sisters of the Roman Union, the Sisters of Loretto/Loretto Community, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood, Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and the School Sisters of Notre Dame. The school opened in 2000 and, drawing students from 21 are zip codes, operates as a NativityMiguel school, with young girls committing to an intensive 10-month, 10-hour daily schedule to prepare for college-prep high schools. Students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership and life skills that take them successfully into the next chapter of their academic career.
