$1.5 Million Dollar Payment to Settle Suit

August A. Busch IV Agrees to Wrongful Death Settlement with Adrienne Martin's Family.

Ex Anheuser Busch executive August A. Busch IV has agreed to pay $1.5 million in order to settle a wrongful death suit in the accidental drug overdose case of his former girlfriend Adrienne Martin according to a story in today's St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

A lawsuit was filed last month on behalf of Martin's surviving son eight year old Blake Alexander Martin of Cape Girardeau. The suit alleges that Busch was negligent in the death of Adrienne Martin, 27 at his mansion in Huntleigh.

A motion for judicial approval was filed Friday in court in Cape Girardeau where the son and his father live.

The matter is a settled agreement between Busch and Dr. Kevin Martin, the ex husband of Adrienne Martin.

Adrienne Martin's father,George "Larry" Eby is seeking to join the suit. Judge William Syler is expected to take up that case in Cape Girardeau.

Christine Trampler of Springfield, Mo., the grandmother of Blake Martin has indicated that she intends to seek custody of the child although she has not yet taken legal action.

Authorities have ruled the death on Dec. 19 as accidental but a hole in Martin's nasal septum indicated that she was an alleged cocaine user.

Wthout further testimony from August Busch IV, the case has been closed.
