The St. Louis Low Brass Collective announces their 2011-2012 season with feature top low-brass musicians and premiers of works for low-brass solo instruments and ensembles.
Season highlights include premiers of solo and ensemble works by the St. Louis Symphony trombone section, jazz compositions by Brett Stamp, tuba virtuoso Patrick Sheridan, the premier of a new work by Barbara Harbach and the New Orleans brass group Bonerama.
The Collective will also join the popular On Stage at Powell series with celebrated euphonium artist Demondrae Thurman performing with the Symphony’s trombones.
The highly popular Holiday Play-Along is moving to the Schoenberg Theater at the Missouri Botanical Garden to accommodate its growing numbers.
