Week 5: Ballot Box Time for MVP From Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette

This is Week No. 5 and it is time to vote for the most valuable athlete of the week. The winner will emerge from this list.

Votes will be counted until 5 p.m. Thursday. The winner will be recognized over the weekend.

Kirk Smith, John Burroughs Cross Country. First in Class 3 of all runners at the Hancock Invitational this weekend with a time of 16:26.58. A true contender now for the state meet in November.

Zeke Elliott, John Burroughs football. Six TDs in the demolition of rival MICDS 55-7. Two more of his TDs were called back because of penalties. Area leader with 23 TDs this fall.

Elisa Marker, Villa Duchesne cross country. Second at the Hancock Invitational in Class 4 with a brilliant time of 19:45.19. Just a sophomore.

Matthew Hooper, Ladue football. Passed for two TDs and ran for a third in Ladue’s 42-14 Home Coming win over Normandy.

Claire Sauer, St. Joseph’s Academy field hockey. Nominated by her coach Maggie Potter, she has scored 7 goals counting the last game on the schedule and the games played in a Chicago tournament. She has 10 goals, 2 assists and 6 game winning goals this season.
