Local girls lacrosse is taking a step forward. This Wednesday night, at 6 p.m. at Mary Institute Country Day School local officials will hold the first ever all-star game for girls.

This game is being organized by Judith Anderson, lacrosse coach at Ursuline Academy. The game is dedicated to the memory of Roz Schulte. Roz was an enthusiastic player at John Burroughs. She went on to graduate from the Air Force Academy and died in combat in Afghanistan. The late officer was recognized on Memorial Day at the Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur. She received the Medal of Valor posthumously for her bravery.

Officials will present a memorial plaque to Bob and Susie Schulte. Bob Penke who also attended the Air Force Academy will present the plaque prior to the game.

Here is a moving tribute to the late Roz Schulte and other heroes who lost their lives defending our great nation.

This event will be known as the Roslyn L. Schulte Memorial Senior Girls Lacrosse All Star game.

StickStop donated jerseys for the game. There is no admission charge for this event.
