Readers Vote 2012: What’s Your Favorite Nonprofit?

They work hard to make a difference in our communities. Vote now for your favorite in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Search for the word “nonprofit” in any of our Patch sites and you will find the myriad of organizations that are working for the betterment of society throughout the area.

Each of them is different and unique. Some are fighting to cure diseases, while others are trying to help disadvantaged children.

At Patch, we care a great deal about these organizations, and have even promoted contests to donate toward their cause.

What we want from you, our reader, is to tell us your favorite, most notable nonprofit for our 2012 Readers’ Choice awards.

You made the nominations, now just vote in our poll below for your favorite one.

The voting period will be open from today until Aug. 17 at midnight. Winners will be announced on Aug. 24.

Feed My People is the best non-profit in St. Louis, helping over 35,000 people in St. Louis County and Jefferson County with food last year, plus providing over 25 other programs to help low-income residents of these two counties.

It is desheartening to see that Feed My People, one of the areas largest and longest serving food pantries and help centers is not listed. Feed My People handed out $4 million in food assistance to those in need and many of those families are from right here in Affton. Food supplies are low and we are always looking for volunteers. Lend a hand to those in need right in your own back yard. Visit us at www.feed-my-people.org or stop by our Lemay location for a tour and to make a donation. Neighbors helping neighbors and lending a hand.
