Priory Student Pronounced Dead After Injuries Sustained In Wednesday Accident
Creve Coeur Police say Brandon Hsueh either fell or stumbled off a Conway Road curb Wednesday afternoon during a cross country exercise.
Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and the Creve Coeur Police Department confirmed Friday morning that Brandon Hsueh, a seventh grade student at St. Louis Priory School in Creve Coeur was pronounced dead just before 1 a.m. Friday following serious injuries sustained in a Wednesday afternoon accident.
Police say Hsueh, 13, had fallen behind a group of cross country runners jogging along Conway Road Wednesday afternoon when it appears he fell or stumbled off a a curb into the path of an oncoming car. Police said in a news release Thursday that he suffered a serious head injury.
A police investigation is not yet complete and will be forwarded to St. Louis County Prosecutors as a formality, but a statement Thursday indicated there was no sign of alcohol or drug impairment.
School leaders have not returned messages seeking comment since the accident, but according to the school's student council page on Facebook, a mass was held to pray for Hsueh Thursday morning.
