Creve Coeur Police Wednesday announced that Sheila Weaver was the woman who died following a Sunday afternoon car accident in the Sackston Woods subdivision.
Police said Weaver lived in the neighborhood and was the passenger in a car driven by a 91 year old man who's identity has not been released by police. According to authorities, the car drove off the road and struck a tree, trapping both occupants.
Weaver, 67, was a real estate agent and also served on the City of Creve Coeur's Economic Development Commission.
Reached by phone in Colorado, former Mayor Harold Dielmann called Weaver's death "a terrible loss for the whole community." Ward 4 Councilman Scott Saunders, who serves as the council liason to the Economic Development Commission, said in an email to Patch, that Weaver "was bright, energetic, and always enthusiastic about her contributions to Creve Coeur. She will be missed."
