MVP Week No. 8: The Voting Begins

Two swimmers, two basketball players vie for honors this week.

 

The time has come to vote for MVP of the Week. Vote for your favorite athlete now through 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner will be recognized over the weekend.

Here's this week's field of candidates:

Grace Stiegemeyer, St. Joe swimming. Fourth in the Metro in the 500 yard free style, she has near-top times in the 50, 100 and 200 free and 8th best in the area in the individual medley.

Trey Ross, MICDS swimming. 7th in the area in the 100 butterfly and 7th in the 100 yard backstroke, she had a big hand in MICDS' win over rival John Burroughs.

Emmie Haring, St. Joe basketball. Starting point guard, she is 11th in the the Metro with assists and a key performer on a 17-4 team going into the match with Incarnate Word Academy.

Cornell Johnson, Ladue High basketball. Scored his 1,000th career point Friday night. A junior point guard, he averages nearly 14 points per game and the Rams are 18-4 this season.
