MVP, Week 2, Let Your Voice Be Heard

Time to vote for the most valuable athlete from the Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette Patch.

 

The competition is solid for week No. 1. The candidates range from a football star to a Libero on the volleyball court.

You, the reader will decide who it will be. Vote for your favorite athlete through 5 p.m. Thursday. Then over the weekend, the winner will be announced.

Here's today's canidates:

  • Zeke Elliott, John Burroughs football. 8 touchdowns in 2 weeks
  • Brittany Green, Villa Duchesne tennis. Champion of the Metro tennis tournament.
  • Shawn Whitley, Ladue football. Leading rusher on the Rams attack.
  • Emily Kellerhals, Villa Duchesne volleyball. Libero on the defending state championship team.

Last week's winner was Alyssa Jensen, star of the St. Joseph's Academy volleyball team.

What happened to Reid Cytron, Ladue soccer - scored both goals in MICDS championship game with an incredible shot in overtime to win in sudden death? I thought he was among the nominees based on the Patch e-mail a day or two ago.

Robert, that was a suggested list and it has to be paired down to four. I didn't hear from his coach but I did from Ladue's football coach Mike Tarpey who nominated Shawn Whitley. It is a long season and Reid could be in the running any of those weeks.
