Friday morning, MICDS will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its new science, technology and mathematics lab. The 86,000 square foot addition will be built on the North campus along Warson Road.

The new facility will include:

  • Nine science classroom labs
  • Eight mathematics classrooms
  • Two outdoor classrooms
  • Greenhouse
  • Plant science lab
  • Robotics lab
  • And an 800-seat auditorium and student commons area.

Donors, faculty and students will join in the event along with Lisa Lyle, MICDS Head of School, and Dr. William Danforth, 1944 MICDS alumnus and chancellor emeritus of Washington University. Dr. Danforth will give a keynote address at the event.

The project is expected to be completed by February, 2014, according to a news release.
