I voted today and was prepared to follow the new law and show legal ID proof that I was the person on my voter card that I received in the mail....I was not asked for an ID....why was that? Did I not fill the criteria of asking for an ID?

That's a good question, Jim. Where did you vote?

Angela, I voted in O'Fallon at the VFW Hall directly across the street from Ethyl's....I am well aware that the new law recently passed demands that a picture ID is shown to guarantee that you are the person who is voting...Not one person in the small line before me or after me was asked to show an ID. I have questions about this and do not want to jump to conclusions until I hear something official.

It is not yet a law. They cannot legally demand a photo ID. As long as you have your voter card, you may vote. http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Missouri_Voter_ID_Amendment_(2012)

Interesting. I'm 42 and whenever I've voted the election officials always ask to see my driver's license. It's just assumed that's the easiest thing you've got on you to prove who you are. I don't see what the big deal is...

I always show my drivers license just because its already in my wallet, the id card they send is just one more thing to carry.

I'm the same, Erin. I hang the ID card they send on the fridge and forget it, but always have my driver's license with me.
