Karen Whaley Rugg, Ladue High Graduate Passes Away

Co-Founder of Stray Haven Rescue in St. Louis.

 

Karen Whaley Rugg, a 1964 Ladue-Horton Watkins graduate passed away on December 26, 2012.

Mrs. Rugg is survived by her husband George Rugg; stepmother to Kevin and Sarah; sister to Thomas Whaley, William Whaley, John Whaley and Kathleen (Whaley) Caroll.

She graduated from Saint Louis University and was Vice President and Marketing Director for Metro Express Transportation services.

She was also director and co-founder of Stray Haven Rescue, placing more than 700 animals with loving families.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, January 2) AT Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd. from 6-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 4967 Forest Park Blvd. on January 3 at 10 a.m. and burial will be at Bellerive, 740 Mason Rd. in Creve Coeur.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in Karen’s name for pancreatic cancer research, to Pedal the Cause or Stray Haven Rescue.
