Head Back to School with a New Wardrobe from Ladue Stores
From denim to dresses, "Ladue-Frontenac Patch" has the must-have looks for teen girls.
Whether you're looking to stand out in school, after school or both, stores in Ladue and Frontenac have you covered with a wide variety of clothing and accessories to meet any budget.
Here are the four staples for your fall 2011 back-to-school wardrobe:
1. A great-fitting pair of jeans (from classic denim to gray or red)
2. Crocheted sweaters
3. Anything late '60s-inspired (Bohemian tops, printed dresses, feathered accessories, etc.)
4. Fun, edgy boots
At Alixandra Collections, you can go simple with a pair of Rich and Skinny "Legacy" jeans ($170), a 3 Dot long-sleeved, black-and-grey jersey top ($96), a Virgin Saints and Angels necklace ($194) and Vita Fede bracelets ($196).
For a lighter look, that same pair of jeans looks great with an off-white, lacy Language top ($125), a Serafina feather bib necklace ($76), a Chan Luu bracelet ($236) and a Tai bracelet ($126).
If gray is your color, head to Alixandra for a gray-striped Splendid top ($80) and gray AG "Stilt" jeans ($159). The outfit looks great with some black and silver accessories, such as a Big Buddha bag ($99), an Alisa Michelle necklace ($44), a Gillian and Julius bracelet ($250) and Nakamol earrings ($70).
If you're in need of a cute patterned dress, try the multicolored Glam "Placement Crest" dress ($70), which looks great with layered necklaces ($30 and up) and stacked bracelets ($170 and up).
If you head down Clayton Road to Vie, you can also start with a couple of basic, denim looks. A pair of Current/Elliott jeans ($198) is ready for fall with an off-white Alice and Olivia tunic sweater ($330), a Xoley and Corinna bag ($415), a Safia necklace ($500) and Miguel Ases earrings ($400).
The same pair of jeans looks great with a grey Ramy Brook top ($352), Safia necklace ($700) and Miguel Ases earrings ($395).
You can keep it simple with a cute brown Alice and Olivia ensemble: a pair of dark brown cropped cargo pants ($396) and a light-brown, sequined sweater ($198).
If you're in need of a structured dress for a more formal occasion, Vie also has you covered. A nude-colored Black Halo shift dress ($328) goes well with a pair of Miguel Ases earrings ($400).
If you head to the other side of town, stop by Old Navy for some essential fall pieces.
Some school days come with the sweltering temperatures of summer, so it may be smart to have a good pair of shorts on hand. At Old Navy, a pair of navy shorts ($24.94) is ready for fall when paired with a multicolored, floral-print, lace chiffon top ($26.94), an olive button-up, crocheted sweater ($36.94) and a pair of metallic ballet flats ($19.94).
Cropped pants are also great for the earlier fall months, and a pair of grey ones ($29.94) look cute with a white, crocheted sweater ($24.94), a pink cami ($10), a floral scarf ($12.94) and gray, lace-up wedges ($36.94).
If you're wanting a fun and funky denim look, try a pair of Old Navy's "Rockstar" denim leggings ($34.50) with a coral floral top ($22.94), a black motorcycle jacket ($49.94) and black "Rider" boots ($44.94).
Old Navy also has plenty of denim skirts. The store's long, front-slit denim skirt ($34.94) goes well with a purple, ruffled, henley top ($16.94), tan "Rider" boots ($44.94) and a brown cross-body bag ($26.94).
Finally, heading toward Clayton on Ladue Road, stop at Splash.
This fall, you can go for a burst of color with your standard pair of jeans. Splash has a pair of red J Brand skinny jeans ($176) that makes a fun, casual look when paired with a Chaser tee ($48).
If you want to stick with classic denim, Splash also has you covered. A pair of Mother Denim jeans ($196) is ready for a night out with friends with a blue and white printed For Love and Lemons top ($66), Go Max nude heels ($59) and a nude-colored clutch ($49).
Go for a Bohemian-inspired look with a multicolored-striped Billabong "Sabra" cardigan ($59.50), a light-yellow Chaser tee ($48), Hudson skinny jeans ($189) and brown Minnetonka, three-layer fringe boots ($89.95).
Take the Bohemian trend further with a brown Jen's Pirate Booty dress ($144), which makes for a fun look when worn with Koolaburra feather sandals ($176) and a turquoise Tai bracelet ($52).
