Rouse won a pair of championships in June. She won the Gateway Section Junior PGA Championship with scores of 80 and 76 at Spencer T. Olin. That qualified her for the National Junior PGA Championship which will be held next month in Fort Wayne, In.

Rouse followed that three-shot victory with another title at the Missouri Women's Golf Association (MWGA) Junior Tournament at Norwood Hills. Rouse shot a pair of 78's in the 36-hole tournament, winning by two strokes.

"I am pleased with my long game but I am especially happy with my putting," Rouse said. "I worked hard on that part of my game all spring and I have putted well this summer."

Rouse was a part of the Missouri team which finished second in the Four-State Tournament in Beatrice, Ne. June 27-28. Missouri was two strokes behind Nebraska.

"That is a fun tournament with the team concept," Rouse said. "I was part of the Missouri team which won last year and it is tough to come up just short this year."

The summer continues to be busy for Rouse who is playing this week in a regional junior PGA Tournament in Indiana.

She will play in the MWGA Tournament at Bellerive July 11-14 in a star-studded field and will also travel to Florida for the Optimist Invitational and to Indiana for the National Junior PGA. She leaves for Yale, where she plans to study Global Affairs on Aug. 20.

Rouse will bide by her golf philosophy as she prepares to play for Ivy League champion.

"Golf is a game of constant practice and hopefully constant progress," she said.
