10 Reasons Why You Would Want to Go to "Olivette on the Go"

Weekend festival in Stacy Park delivers a wide range of entertainment options.

This weekend, Friday through Sunday, the community celebrates “Olivette on the Go” in Stacy Park and in Oak Estates subdivision.

I can probably think of 10 good reasons why everyone should drop by and take part this weekend.

No. 10--You will have the opportunity to meet a lot of good folks from Olivette, those being residents, organizers, public officials and the rest.

No. 9--There are a variety of new and different food booths.

No. 8--The carnival features all new rides, some appealing to adults and not just to children.

No. 7--The chili cook off sponsored by the Creve Coeur/Olivette Chamber of Commerce is a ‘hot affair.’ Besides, a thousand dollars goes to the grand prize chili maker.

No. 6--A 5K race and Family Fun Run will take place Sunday morning in Oak Estates. The first place finisher gets $150 cash. It was a blast last year.

No. 5--There’s a lot of stuff for teenagers. Friday night, DJ Mc Reggie will flat out entertain including the Olivette Glow Flash Mob.

No. 4--On Saturday, the World of Martial Arts of Hazelwood will break boards with their hands and slice an apple with their feet. Now who could miss that.

No. 3--Patch.com will have a booth to meet everyone of you and to sign folks up for our free newsletters for the Olivette Patch and other local websites.

No. 2--Everyone who comes, and especially those who spend money will be supporting community efforts in the great city of Olivette.

No. 1--Erin Bode will entertain live, Saturday at 7 p.m. And she clearly is one of the fastest rising musical stars in all of St. Louis.

As they say in the biz: be there or be square. For complete details here’s the website.

There is even a Facebook page for this event.
